Parks and Recreation
Overview
The Chesterfield Township Parks & Recreation Department strives to provide
positive program alternatives that result in great recreational opportunities
for people living and visiting the Anchor Bay area. It is our goal to provide a
multitude of activities that are affordable, stimulating and comprehensive and
that enhance the quality of life in southeast Michigan through recreation,
enrichment, fitness, athletics, cultural arts, conservation, preservation and
general open space use. It is our mission to accomplish this in a safe,
enjoyable and aesthetically enriching environment for all ages.
A dedicated staff supported by a legion of volunteers is essential in the
delivery of our programs and services. A nine member advisory board referred to
as the Parks & Recreation Commission meets the last Wednesday of the month
(Jan-Nov) at 7PM inside of the Chesterfield Township Offices. These meetings are
open to the public and community involvement is always welcome.
